Tony Braithwaite is a Barrymore Award-winning actor, teacher, director, writer, and comedian based in Philadelphia who has been hailed by Variety as, “an all-purpose, scene stealing talent.” Braithwaite’s professional career began at 13, when he became the youngest stand-up ever to appear at NYC’s legendary comedy club, The Improv. As an adult, he has performed at numerous theatres: in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Chicago, and D.C. His work ranges from stand-up to Shakespeare, from modern classics to musical comedy. All the while, he manages to find time to teach and direct at local educational institutions such as Curtis Institute, University of Pennsylvania, and his beloved alma mater, St. Joe’s Prep. He serves as Vice President of the Board of Theatre Revolution, and he runs the Corporate Comedy Division of his brothers firm, Braithwaite Communications.
